In 2021, the best time to see Washington's blossoming Cherry Trees in peak bloom is April 2nd-5th.  But you can still visit in the week after and see an impressive display.

BEST VIEWS OF THE CHERRY BLOSSOMS

Walk the path around the Tidal Basin. Along the way you can stop to visit the Jefferson and King Memorials. DC's largest group of Cherry trees is along the Potomac River's waterfront, located in East Potomac Park.

HISTORY OF DC's CHERRY BLOSSOM TREES

The Cherry trees were a gift from the People of Japan to the People of the United States. There were 3,020 tree specimens of 12 different varieties delivered in February of 1912. Interesting fact, The White House got its own particular variety of Cherry Tree, called Gyo-i-ko.

WWII Memorial is an expansive monument to the veterans of the great war.
Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial - Read and see King's speeches which are  inscribed on the stone sides of this massive memorial.
Vietnam Veterans Memorial - Designed by the architect Maya Lin, its solemn ground-breaking design changed the perception of what a memorial's design and experience can be. Also see The National Gallery of Art which has a wonderful sculpture garden, and don't miss visiting the The Hirshhorn Museum, a highly regarded space to see contemporary and modern art.
