Finding all the Vermeers in the World

Find and see all of Vermeer's paintings in the world with our colorful maps and a complete list of Vermeer's artworks in the Europe, the United States and Japan.

Johannes Vermeer (Dutch; 1632-1675) famously produced a small number of paintings in his lifetime. According to the Wikipedia Vermeer page, there are 37 Vermeers in the world, but three of those works' attributed to him are disputed - they are included here.

Vermeer lived his life in the small town of Delft, near to The Hague.
His work became largely obscure for about two hundred years after his death. Today, you can see by the list of institutions below what his coveted rank is in the art world.

With wealthy 20th century American industrialists and financiers being active buyers, it's no surprise that 14 of Vermeer's paintings ended up in East Coast museums. The Wikipedia Vermeer page is also where you can easily see images of all his paintings.
