POPL Burger is from the chef who created the world-famous NOMA restaurant. POPL's offerings are delicious burgers with an assortment of sides like crispy shrimp and french fries. Very popular with the locals. $$
Bistro Central is a great cafe near Copenhagen's most popular attractions. The restaurant was recommended to us by two well-dressed Danes whom we asked help from on the street. Fresh food, lively crowd, lovely service. $$
Cafe Petersborg: Classic, tasty Danish food. Cafe Petersborg has been in business since 1746 and is one of Copenhagen's oldest restaurants. The restaurant is known for its open-faced sandwiches paired with a beer. $$

Il Buco: Cozy, warm and delicious is Il Buco, which is located in the Gamle Bryggen neighborhood. We enjoyed Il Buco on our last night in the city, settling in for great Danish-influenced Italian cuisine. Perfect. $$-$$$
Maven Restaurant is a quintissential Danish restaurant located in Nikolaj Church. We walked in because the scene behind its windows looked so inviting from the street! Maven is a real treat with its lovely wood-panelled interiors, delicious Danish cooking and great wine. $$-$$$
Marv & Ben located on narrow Snaregade street in the Gammel Strand district, Marv & Ben offers a locally sourced, organic menu from fish to game. Each food course is beautifully presented and described. $$-$$$

Geranium is considered one of the best restaurants in the world. Located at FC Copenhagen Stadium, the restaurant overlooks nearby gardens and playing fields. A true culinary experience, each course of food is a work of art that's presented in an elegantly-designed chic space. $$$$+
